Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room! Or should I say, “Hi, guys! I’m back!” I finally finished my first year of law school and needless to say, it was rough. I don’t know why I ever thought I was going to be able to blog in my free time because during law school, there is no such thing as free time. So that brings us to today, stuck in quarantine. Umm excuse me? What is this nonsense? I would just like to aimlessly stroll the aisles of TJ Maxx and Marshalls for days on end thank you very much.
Anyway! Since we are all stuck inside, I’m going to update you on my quarantine makeup routine. I’m going to be honest, it’s not even really a routine. I’ll be lucky if at this point I put on makeup once every two weeks. However, this is what I have been doing if I have been putting on makeup and it’s what I was doing for like no makeup/law school class days so it will be a good combination of everything. Plus I’ll be talking about some new products on my blog and we just get to take our mind off of the junk in the world right now. So let’s get into the makeup!
What is a primer? I don’t know at this point and I really don’t care anymore. I can’t be bothered to do anything let alone put on pants. The name of this stuff essentially describes it. It’s a skin tint. It won’t really give you any coverage but it feels like skincare sitting on your face. I love this stuff and it feels like a hydrating blanket sitting on my skin all day.
My face looks healthy, dewy, and somewhat evened-out when using this. Highly recommend!
We are keeping with the lightweight theme here and brand apparently and going with the Glossier Stretch Concealer. This concealer is super dewy and buildable. I like it because it’s obviously hydrating on my dry skin, but it’s name stretch comes in handy in that it really does move with your skin.
I find that no matter what concealer I use it tends to crease under my eyes so I’m constantly patting it out. Well, even though this one does the same, when I pat it out, for some reason it looks better throughout the day! Like the warmth from your fingers makes it blend again and work with your skin. Use it all over your face but definitely set it because like it said, she dewy. Also it looks super natural and of course works really well with the Glossier Skin Tint.
This cream/liquid blush will ruin other blushes for you. Seriously. It’s that good. Like the color selection is phenomenal and I don’t think any of them have shimmer, so they all look really natural.
This is gel-cream formula that you can apply with your fingertips to your cheeks, eyes, lips, etc. It blends out seamlessly and looks really natural. I have the color Beam and it is a soft peach.
And you thought this was about to be a Glossier Power Hour! To be honest I don’t always do this step, but if I am wanting some extra color, I will throw this on. I feel like it does dry down to a somewhat powder finish, so I don’t feel the need to set my face afterwards.
It’s a pretty good cream bronzer. I wish they expand the shade range and I might pick up the other color. I have Toffee right now and it seems to be too orange for my light skin tone. The shades in general pull more warm, so be forewarned. Other than that they blend out nicely!
And we are back to the Glossier. I promise this is not a sponsored post, I’m just really into cream products lately and Glossier just kills it in that department!
This cream highlighter is beautiful because you have the metallic highlighter on the outside and on the inside is a Vitamin E core to provide extra hydration. Once you get all of these products on your skin, you looks so dewy and healthy. You don’t look greasy or gross, just so hydrated and bright. This highlight lasts all day and actually makes a great base for powder highlights!
I do want to mention that if you were planning on purchasing anything of these Glossier items I highly, highly recommend getting them in the sets! They are a much better deal and you can still customize your shades!
I ONLY use this to set the stretch concealer under my eyes. I do not powder anywhere on my face to set my makeup. If you have combination skin or oily skin, I would suggest setting your face in your oily areas, but on dry skin it’s not necessary. I only set my under eyes because that is where my concealer creases.
This powder is great for that because it provides a little extra coverage without looking cakey. Plus once again, it hydrates!
Comparable to Benefit Gimme Brow. This has fibers in it and comes in multiple shades. I just throw it on and go. Not bothering with pencils or pomade. I don’t have time the nor patience for that.
We are not bothering with eyeliner, eyeshadow, any other that nonsense. We are just doing mascara and people are lucky that is happening.
Going with a fave that I’ve mentioned on multiple occasions. The Essence Lash Princess does it all and you should just get it already.
Lips: Lip Balm or Lip Tint
Really I just use chapstick or a lip tint. I love the Frank Body Send Nudes Lip Tint. The Neutrogena HydroBoost Hydrating Lip Shine. My favorite lip balm ever that I discovered this past year is you guessed it, Glossier! Okay but Glossier’s Balm Dotcom is straight up the only thing that has worked for my lips. I don’t even know. It’s so good and I can’t find it right now and I’m probably going to order 20 to make up for it.
Anyway, that’s like my two week routine. Hopefully we can all get hyped and go to TJ Maxx soon and spend money on things we don’t need. Until next time, don’t spend too much money online shopping loves.
