Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room! We are FINALLY getting some decent weather here in the Midwest! No more snow and temperatures are creeping up into the 50s. If you’re a true Midwesterner, you understand this definitely calls for a celebration.
If you have read any of my previous posts, you will know that I am a skincare addict. I use so many products in my daily routine that I could probably just run a spa out of my bathroom. I’ve tried every sheet mask imaginable, so I needed to branch out. That being said, I have really been venturing out and trying more skincare products that are focused on other areas of the body besides the face.
Enter in hand and feet masks. We’ve all heard of baby foot, but how come no one really discusses hand masks? To give you some background, I have extremely dry skin everywhere. This is especially true for my hands. If my hands get too dry or irritated, I get eczema flare ups.
I always have to have hand cream with me and apply it immediately after my hands get wet, as well as frequently throughout the day. Lately however, I’ve noticed that that is just not enough anymore. I started to look for some other ways to give my hands some TLC. That brings us to this post and the $3 you need to invest in.
What is it?
The mask I’m referring to is the Aveeno Repairing Cica Hand Mask. Yes, Aveeno makes this fabulous mask! It’s basically like a sheet mask for your face, but instead for your hands.
What does it do?
According to Aveeno, the mask provides the following benefits:
Extra-dry skin relief is at hand
Give dry hands some much-needed relief. AVEENO® REPAIRING CICA Hand Mask gloves help restore essential moisture and balance to extra-dry skin so your hands look smoother and feel softer.
What is CICA? CICA comes from the French word “Cicatrisation.” AVEENO®Repairing CICA Hand Mask is formulated to intensely moisturize & help repair problem skin.
How do I use it?
Step 1: Wash hands thoroughly and dry.
Step 2: Insert one hand in each glove and fasten the strap for comfort. Wear as you would any other glove and enjoy some well-deserved me-time!
Step 3: Remove after 10 minutes. No need to rinse.
Step 4: Massage remaining product into skin until fully absorbed.
What are the ingredients?
Water, Glycerin, Distearyldimodium Chloride, Petrolatum, Ispropyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Benzyl Alcohol, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil, Steareth-20, Sodium Chloride, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract
Where can I buy it?
You can purchase Aveeno products at many major retailers and drugstores such as Target, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens. I purchased mine at CVS.
- CVS- $3.59
- Target- $2.99
- Walgreens- $3.49
- Walmart- $2.96
Why do I need it?
Every single day our hands are exposed to the elements. Wind, hot water, sun, etc. We are constantly using our hands to type, write, wash, and to perform many more everyday tasks. These everyday tasks are taking a toll on our hands by dehydrating them and leading them prone to premature aging, wrinkles, and blisters.
By utilizing a hand mask every now and again you are providing deep moisture and TLC to your hard worked hands. Hand masks replace lost moisture, they are easy to come by, and they are incredibly easy to use.
Why I Love It
This mask deeply hydrates and calms the skin. My cracked and irritated skin felt like brand new after just 10 minutes. This also helped with my dry cuticles and nails. In addition, after removing the product and massaging in the remaining essence, my hands weren’t sticky or had a film.
I love that the ingredients don’t irritate my sensitive skin and this product doesn’t break the bank. It’s super easy to use and is virtually mess-free. There are lots of other hand masks out on the market, but why spend a fortune and travel all over kingdom-come when you could just swing by your local drugstore?
This product has become a staple in my routine and a Winter skincare must-have. 10/10 recommend for all skin types year round!
