It’s Skincare Sunday! Only the best day of the week. This week I want to talk about a fruit slice sheet mask. Yup, you read that right. There is a sheet mask out there that is made up of fruit slices. Basically the epitome of Summer.
Anyway, I purchased this yesterday, as Ulta gave out a 20% off coupon. I purchased a strawberry mask and a cucumber one, as one of my good friends was in town visiting and of course we have to mask together. I figured this product was interesting, fun, and I wanted to share my thoughts and results with you all!
The mask I am referring to is the Slice Sheet Mask Strawberry from the brand KocoStar. KocoStar, which is short for Korea Cosmetic Star, is a Korean brand that releases salon quality products for you to use right in your home.
This is the first product that I have ever tried from the brand, but I am in love with anything Korean skincare.
Claims & Price
The Strawberry Slice Sheet Mask is comprised of 12 individual sheet mask pieces, each shaped and designed like a strawberry. These slices are infused with the scent and nutrients of a real strawberry. This particular masks boasts hydrated and glowing skin.
These compact, individual slices are made of TENCEL fibers from the eucalyptus tree. They are supposed to allow you to target specific areas of your face or body with intense nourishment.
Each slice sheet mask retails for $5.00.
Where To Purchase & Usage
I purchased my sheet at Ulta Beauty, but this product can also be purchased online from KocoStar.
KocoStar recommends the following for usage:
- Apply each slice onto a cleansed, dried face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Massage any excess serum into the skin. You may apply to any area of skin where the treatment is needed.
Right away after opening this product up, it smelled delicious. It did smell like strawberries, but it was kind of like the artificial strawberry smell. I didn’t mind it, because hey, it’s a face mask not a fresh bowl of strawberries, right?
Once I pulled out the slices, they did come on a giant sheet mask saturated in the essence. You are then supposed to peel out the strawberry cutouts and discard the rest. It did kind of seem like I was wasting a ton of product once I peeled away the “strawberries.”
Although you get 12 slices, once I had them on my face it was a little irritating that they didn’t completely cover my face. I know it is mainly like a targeted treatment, but if I spend $5 on a sheet mask, I kind of want to get the most out of it, ya know?
I will say that it was super cute once on. It looked like a spa treatment having fresh fruit all over your face. Here is a picture of my friend and I with our slices on.
I left the mask on for about 15 minutes and then removed the slices and massaged the remaining essence into my skin. It felt nice, but the results weren’t overpowering. My skin was hydrated, but that was about it.
All in all, I think this was a fun little treat to do with my girl, but I don’t think I would repurchase again. There are a ton of other sheet masks that provide way more benefits to my skin at a cheaper price.
If you’re looking for a fun thing to do with friends, go for it. If you are looking for a mask to actually treat your skin, go for something else.
Have you tried this mask before? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
