Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room! Oh my lawd it has been hot in Michigan this past week! We are talking like 90 degrees and up! That being said, with the crazy temps and humidity, I need my makeup to hold up and perform well.
I also opt for products that will protect my skin and look very glowy and natural. So if you’re interested in finding out my go-to makeup products for the Summer, then keep on reading!
Even though foundation coverage will be lighter for me in the Summer, I still absolutely want a makeup gripping primer to keep it in place.
I have been obsessed with The First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer. This 2-in-1 product, will moisturize, illuminate, smooth and blur, and prime the skin. It is a quick step if you’re headed to the beach or out shopping and don’t have time for an extensive skincare or makeup routine.
I do want to add that this looks great on the skin alone as well. It hydrates my dry skin enough, but won’t get oily throughout the day on other skin types. It also keeps my makeup in place and fresh!
Like I mentioned, I go for a lighter coverage foundation in the summer or even opt for a tinted moisturizer. Either way, I make sure that my product has SPF. As you may have read in a recent post, SPF is key to protecting your skin from the Summer sun.
I am still hardcore obsessed with the Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation. That prpduct has SPF 20 to protect your skin and looks great on all skin types.
I am also really down with the First Aid Beauty Triple Protection Skin Tint with Goji Berry SPF 30. This actually provides more coverage than you would expect from a tinted moisturizer.
For concealer I usually go for the It Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream Concealer as it has SPF 50 and natural coverage. It also has skin loving ingredients to nourish your delicate eye area!
Love, love, love the Lancôme Absolue Powder. This illuminates the skin so beautifully, blurs any imperfections, and keeps your makeup in place. It is also very lightweight, so you skin won’t be weighed down or dried out by powder.
If you have oily skin, go for the Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder to keep your makeup in place for up to 12 hours!
Yes, I am still loving the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer. Can’t wrong with this one as it’s perfect for every skin type and has a beautiful finish.
If I am going for natural, I always use my Hourglass Strobing Powder. It melts into the skin to give a refined, natural-looking highlight. Be careful though, these babies can be built up quick!
Benefit Gimme Brow x 1000 is my top choice. The fibers in this product plump up your brows and the gel locks them into place.
Opt for the Essence Make Me Brow if you are looking a cheaper alternative.
Nothing really goes on my eyes this time of year, unless I am doing a Bronze Goddess Look. That being said, I will typically leave them blank, or run some of my bronzer through the crease for subtle definition.
These will give you long, separated lashes that won’t smudge or wear down throughout the day.
Tinted lip balm is my go-to or even a shimmery gloss. I love the Vaseline Rosy Lips, as that gives me hydration and shine in one.
Fresh also makes a tinted Sugar Lip Treatment that has SPF 15 for extra protection.
Probably the most important step for your makeup during the summer, setting spray can make or break your look. Definitely go for something that will lock your makeup into place. Urban Decay’s All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is an obvious choice, but I also love UD’s Chill Setting spray to keep myself hydrated and cool.
Those are my fave products to use during the summer! What are your go-to products during the hot months? Any you’d recommend to me? Let me know in the comments!
