Hello lovelies! I have been thinking that I’ve not updated you all on my skincare routine in awhile. I am constantly switching up products and trying new things, so I really need to share them!
I will go through my routine and how I currently feel about such products. I’ll also let you know if I’m thinking about switching them out and which products I would like to try next.
So, if you’re interested in what my skincare routine looks like, then keep on reading!
Step 1: Makeup Removal (nighttime only)
For quite some time now I have been using the Neutrogena Fragrance Free Makeup Wipes. These work the best for me since they are fragrance free, don’t irritate my skin, and take off makeup so well. I can get off an entire face of makeup using just one side of the wipe.
I do really like these, but am thinking I’m being too wastefl using wipes all the time. I have been looking into using a cleansing oil instead to cut down on waste. I really would love to try the Julep Love Your Bare Face Hydrating Cleansing Oil.
Step 2: Cleanse
For this step I have been using two different cleansers. If I have just taken off my makeup and I need a deeper clean, I go for my Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser. This stuff is amazing and deeply cleans without stripping the skin.
If it’s the morning or I haven’t worn makeup that day, I will cleanse with my Glamglow Thirstycleanse Daily Hydrating Cleanser. This stuff is super silky and keeps the hydration in my dry skin. The only reason I don’t use this at night too is because I feel like it doesn’t get leftover makeup or impurities from my skin like the Korres does.
I will most likely be using the Korres cleanser morning and night when I run out of the Glamglow. The Glamglow cleanser is actually being discontinued, so it’s hard to find anywhere.
Step 3: Tone
This step contains two different products as well. At night I always use my The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This is an amazing nightly toner for chemical exfoliation, radiance, and clarity.
In the morning I will go in with my Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender.
Step 4: Serum
This is the step that has the most items. I am kind of obsessed with serums and you will totally see that after you’re done reading. After toning, I will take my Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate all over my face. This product is kind of like a toner and serum in one. It enhances the performance of your skincare products and helps to refine texture on your face.
After that I go in with my Physician’s Formula 24k Gold Collagen Serum. This product recently entered my collection and I am IN LOVE! I have been looking to add collagen into my routine and this was budget friendly and actually works!
After that serum, in the morning, I will use my Derma E Vitamin C Concetrated Serum with Hyaluronic Acid.
At night I will use The Ordinary’s Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres. This one is a lot more heavy duty and can feel gritty, so it’s best applied at night.
Step 5: Oils
The first oil I use is the Physician’s Formula Vitamin C Brightening Facial Oil Stick with SPF 30. Yes, I love using Vitamin C in my skincare routine! Plus this is so convenient in stick form.
If my skin is feeling extra dry or needs a little TLC, I then use my The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil. Deeply hydrates and keeps me glowing.
Step 6: Eye Creams
Eye care is really important. Neglecting your eye area can result in cakey concealer and premature aging. Make sure you moisturize this area too! For my daytime eye cream I love the Botanics 80% Organic Hydrating Eye Cream.
At night I go with some heavy duty, of course. My personal fave is the Clinique All About Eyes Rich. Perfect for those with dry skin or a sensitive eye area!
Step 7: Moisturizer
As one of my final steps (yes, I know it took forever to get here), I go in with a heavy duty moisturizer. In the morning, I use my Kiehl’s Ultra Deep Facial Moisture Balm. This balm is heavy, thick, and locks everything into place. If you suffer from dry skin, you need this! Any other skin types I recommend the traditional Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer.
For my nighttime moisturizer, I am currently using the Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream for Dry/Very Dry Skin. I think this is a good night cream, however, it is too fragrant for me personally. I have been looking into other options, but am not sold on anything. Please leave recommendations in the comments!
Step 8: Facial Mists
This step definitely doesn’t happen every single day, but if I am feeling super extra or my skin needs more hydration, I love to go in with a facial mists to finish off my routine. The only mist I use for this step is the Pixi Glow Mist. This is another item you need if you suffer from dry skin.
This spray changed my skin and my makeup application. It contains Argan Oil, Propolis, and Aloe Vera to keep your skin smooth, hydrated, and glowing. Love using this to set my makeup as well!
