Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room my dears! If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with skincare. Lately, skincare is my favorite part of my beauty routine. That’s right, taking off my makeup has been more enjoyable than putting it on lately!
In previous skincare posts, I have mentioned how much I love Vitamin C serums. Although Vitamin C serums are typically marketed as an anti-aging product, they provide a ton of benefits in youthful skin as well!
For the longest time, my favorite Vitamin C serum was the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. It is definitely still up their in my top three, but because of the price, I have been backing off of it as of late.
I have even gambled with the Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum, which is fabulous as well, but just as expensive as the Ole.
So here I was, on the hunt for a more affordable Vitamin C serum that would still provide amazing benefits to my skin, but not break the budget. That’s when I stumbled across Derma E.
Derma E is one of the largest natural facial care brands in the U.S. Their products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and do not contain parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy or GMOs. Yay!
Not only do their products contain amazing ingredients, the company also has fabulous business ethics to promote a healthier world. They are constantly striving to lessen their environmental impact as well. Their packaging components are recyclable and they offset 100% of conventional electricity use with wind energy certificates. They also formulate their Natural Mineral Sunscreens with ingredients identified as safe for coral reef ecosystems. Amazing!
So enough about how amazing the brand is, let’s get into the breakdown of this product and why I love it!
This serum claims to brighten the skin and boost collagen, which will ultimately minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also claims to help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.
This Vitamin C in this serum is combined with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and protect the skin from environmental stressors and signs of aging. The serum also contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to calm the skin and add an extra layer of hydration.
Derma E also claims that they use a stable form of Vitamin C in this formula that won’t evaporate or alter before absorbing in to your skin.
Purified Water, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C, Stay-C® 50), Glycerin (Vegetable Derived) , Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid; Actimoist® Bio-1), Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Propanediol (Vegetable Derived), Microcrystalline Cellulose (Plant Derived), Cellulose Gum (Plant Derived), Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide (Vegetable Derived), Polymnia Sonchifolia (Yacón) Root Juice, Maltodextrin, Lactobacillus (Probiotic), Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Gel Extract *, Allantoin, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Citrate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylgylcerin, Natural Fragrance Oils.
The packaging on this serum is pretty standard for skincare products. In comes in a plastic bottle with a pump and cap. I personally prefer plastic bottles for skincare, as they are easier to travel with, lighter, and won’t break as easily as glass containers.
Derma E recommends that you use this serum morning and night before your moisturizer. I have been using this product morning and night, after cleansing and toning, but before oils and moisturizers.
Price & Where To Buy
This product currently retails for $24.50. However, you do get 2 fl oz of product. In comparison to other brands, the Mario Badescu serum I mentioned before is $45.00 and is only 1 fl oz. of product.
As for the Ole Henriksen, 1 fl oz retails for $48. I don’t know about you, but this product is a much better deal!
You can purchase this product on Derma E’s website. Please note that they are currently only shipping within the USA.
This serum has made my skin come back to life. It’s been awhile since I’ve used Vitamin C, but this serum made me realize how much I missed it. My appearance is more radiant, smoother, and all around better.
This serum has added some hydration to my dry, Winter skin, while at the same reducing fine lines and shrinking my pores. I also love how this serum smells like Fruit Loops too!
Any discoloration or acne scarring I previously suffered from has been reduced. I also feel like the Aloe Vera in this product has helped with the redness I get around my nose and cheeks.
This product is 110% Haley approved! For the price and results, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to expensive serums! Plus, I love the ethics of this company and the ingredients on their products.
I think all of their claims on this product were true and then some. I will continue to use this product until the bottle is empty, although it might take me awhile to get there since you get quite a bit!
I will for sure be picking up more Derma E products and will give you all the details on those. Have you tried any Derma E products? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
