Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room! This past weekend I ventured in to my local Ulta Beauty and snagged up some new drugstore items. These items may not necessarily be new to the beauty community, but they are new to my collection. Plus, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am more inclined to trying out drugstore options because if I can find you all something that is great and saves you cash, I am all for that!
As you probably read from the title, this post is basically a first impressions of a foundation that is under $10. What a steal, right? The product I am referring to is the Bh Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Liquid Foundation. This foundation was previously their original liquid, but has now been reformulated. Bh Cosmetics is an amazing, affordable brand that I personally feel is super underrated. I have not tried any of their foundations, so I figured it was time to bite the bullet.
In this post I will go over every aspect of the product and in the end I will ultimately let you know if it is Haley approved or not. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee (or wine) and let’s break this product down!
This foundation claims to provide skin-pampering benefits and a radiant complexion. It contains Hyaluronic acid for a more hydrated and youthful and appearance. It is supposed to be lightweight, yet provide medium to full coverage and have a satin finish.
You will have a flawless complexion with a soft-focus look. This product is vegan, cruelty free, and is dermatologist tested. FYI, this product is not oil-free.
This foundation currently comes in 18 different shades. I purchased the shade 204-Natural Beige.
Price & Where to Buy?
This foundation retails for $8.99 on Bh Cosmetics’ website, however, it is currently on sale for $5.00 right now! You can also purchase this from Ulta Beauty for $7.99.
In this bottle you get 1 fl oz or 30 ml or product, which is pretty standard for foundation.
The packaging comes in a beautiful, frosted glass bottle. It does have a pump on it as well, which is great. This really feels and looks like a high end foundation, without the high end price tag of course.
Application & Wear
After initially pumping some product out, I was very surprised to see how thick it actually was. Since this product claims to be lightweight, I did not expect it to be so thick. That being said, although thick, this product is pretty pigmented, so you do not need a ton of it to cover your face.
I applied and blended this foundation out with a Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush. If I want to see the coverage capabilities of a product, I typically go with a brush. A damp sponge or Beautyblender tends to sheer out a foundation.
I noticed right away that this foundation blends very nicely. It doesn’t dry down completely, so you have some time to work with it. After the first layer, it seemed to be about a medium coverage. I immediately went in with more product and got it built up to full coverage with a second layer. Although I applied a second layer, the product didn’t look cakey or feel super heavy.
This product also didn’t cling to dry patches and settled down in to a matte to satin finish. I also didn’t have any issues with layering products on top of this. My concealer applied the same as it always does and powders glided across the foundation.
As for the wear on this product, it did wear for quite a decent amount of time. I never had issues with it settling in to fine lines or breaking up throughout the day. I personally never got shiny with this product on, but I also have dry skin. From my experience, I actually think this product would would on all skin types, even oily.
Overall I think this is a good foundation! It gave me the coverage that I wanted and looked great on my skin. It also has a good amount of longevity.
One thing I wish was different was the color selection. I think they did a good job with the selection of 18 shades, but I think the undertones of those 18 are all pretty similar. Most of these shades tend to have a pink undertone and even the neutral undertones lean a little pink. If you have yellow undertones in your skin, this is something to be aware of before you purchase this.
Other than that for the price and performance, you really can’t go wrong with this product. It seems to work well for all skin types and the coverage can be customized to your liking. 100% Haley approved!
