Welcome back my dears! So you know I have been obsessed with The Ordinary products for a few months now. I did a previous post on my fist Ordinary haul which you can check out here, otherwise I placed a new order and wanted to share some new products that I purchased.
If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary, these are clinical strength products at a super affordable price. The brand totes the phrase “Clinical Formulations with Integrity.” From everything that I have seen and read, I can 100% stand behind that.
The Ordinary comes from the brand DECIEM, which includes an umbrella of other lines. All DECIEM products, across all brands, including The Ordinary, are free of parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, animal oils, benzalkonium chloride, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, mercury, oxybenzone.
So without any further ado, lets just get in to this haul!
I am obsessed with Vitamin C skincare products, as I believe they provide a ton of great benefits for all skin types. As you may have read in my Best of Ole Henriksen post, I love their Vitamin C Truth Serum, it just is a bit pricey, which is why I opted to try The Ordinary’s version.
The Ordinary has this to say about this product: “Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant and its pure form of L-Ascorbic Acid has been shown to reverse multiple signs of skin aging while brightening the skin when applied topically. This water-free, silicone-free formula provides 23% pure L-Ascorbic Acid which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. The system is supported with addition of dehydrated spheres of Hyaluronic Acid to offer visible surface smoothing alongside the benefits of Vitamin C. This treatment is ideally applied at bedtime.
I have only used this product once, but I agree you should only apply this at bedtime. It has a grainy, gritty texture to it, which some may not like, but I don’t mind. After one use I feel like I can already notice that my skin is brighter and smoother. I will try and do an update on the long term effects!
In my last haul I purchased the “Buffet” anti-aging serum from The Ordinary. I did actually really like that product and have no complaints, I was just reading online that people saw more results with the Matrixyl.
The Ordinary explains the Matrixyl serum as “Matrixyl is a trademarked peptide composition developed by Sederma in France. This highly-effective composition has been shown to reduce the look of static and dynamic wrinkles. This formula contains two generations of Matrixyl, Matrixyl 3000 and Matrixyl Synthe’6, at a combined concentration of 10% by weight in a specialized Hyaluronic Acid delivery system. The peptide in Matrixyl 3000 is palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and the peptide in Matrixyl Synthe’6 is palmitoyl tripeptide-38.”
Again, I have only tried this once so far so I will have to update you on the long term results!
Probably the product that I was most excited about to try was this caffeine solution. This product is meant for the eye contour area to reduce puffiness and the look of dark circles. If you have been reading any previous posts, you know that I suffer from horrible herditary dark circles. Products will not fix it completely, but I have tried a few that have helped tremendously.
This product is described as “This light-textured formula contains an extremely high 5% concentration of caffeine, supplemented with highly-purified Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves. Independent studies have shown that topical use of each of caffeine and EGCG can help reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour. Additional studies have shown that caffeine can also reduce the appearance of cellulite.”
After two uses my eye area feels smoother, more hydrated, and less dark. Since this is a serum formula and not a cream, I did apply my regular eye creams over top of this once it soaked in. I feel like this serum increased the effectiveness of my creams.
Now this product I actually didn’t purchase for myself. I ordered this for my boyfriend as he suffers with large, clogged pores and acne. This serum is a high strength vitamin and mineral blemish formula. The serum helps to reduce sebum production, a huge culprit in clogged pores.
Described as: “Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.”
I will update you all on his results and if I decide to try it out as well!
This is actually a repurchase, as I am totally in love with this oil. If you need a deeply hydrating facial oil that can also be used on your hair, get this! It doesn’t clog your pores and your skin will be hydrated and smooth. An absolute must for those with dry skin.
Have you tried any products from The Ordinary? Any that you would recommend to me? Let me know in the comments!
