January 2018 Hits & Misses

Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room! Well you guys, we made it through the first month of 2018! Holy moly it is almost February. The year is already flying by, but that’s okay by me because I already want Fall again!

So you know the drill, I am going to go over all the products I loved this past month and some products that were not so hot. If you are interested in what made the list this month, then keep on reading.

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation

I am absolutely obsessed with this foundation! It is the only foundation that I have worn all month. It literally feels healthy on the skin, has a medium, buildable coverage, and works well on all skin types.

The formula contains Hyaluronic Acid as well as a brightening Complex. I love the way my skin looks when I wear this and how incredibly lightweight this is. I have a dedicated post to this foundation, which you can read here.

Flower Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick

I talked about this in my Best of Makeup 2017 post, but this matte liquid lipstick from Flower Beauty is awesome. The formula isn’t drying, it lasts quite a long time on the lips, and the price isn’t bad.

Skinfix Lip Balms

The Skinfix lip balms are made with 40% coconut oil and other great ingredients. They are free of fragrance, soy, gluten, and many other bad ingredients. They deeply hydrate and I also have one on me!

If you need a good lip balm, I highly recommend these!

HASK Unwined Cabernet Sauvignon Deep Conditioner

Another item that I have written about is the HASK Unwined hair line. These wine infused product smell absolutely delectable and they work extremely well. I actually just place an Ulta order to get more deep conditioner packets and one of the leave in sprays.

You can read all the of the specifics on this item here.

Mario Badescu Lavender, Chamomile, And Aloe Facial Spray

The newest facial spray of the Mario Badescu line, this spray is perfect for anyone whose skin needs some calming and soothing. Chamomile, vitamin C, and Lavender essential water combine in a soothing blend that leaves your complexion balanced and bright.

I use this product morning and night in my skincare routine and then also as a priming spray in my makeup routine. Absolutely love this!

Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Cream Oil

An item that I received in my Influenster Tinsel Vox Box and I am hooked. This cream oil formula sinks right in to the skin, leaves you smooth and soft. Most importantly, you’ll be hydrated!

This product contains shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil. Will definitely will repurchase this when I run out!

ULTA Beauty Juice Infused Lip Oil

I received a coupon for a free lip oil from Ulta awhile ago. This is supposed to be a “luxurious lip oil infused with a combination of natural ingredients that nourish and smooth your lips.” To me it really just felt like a thick, gloopy lip gloss. It doesn’t really hydrate or nourish your lips at all.

Even though I got this for free, this product does retail for $9. If you have really dry lips, skip this option and instead go for the Skinfix. Those are cheaper and perform way better.

Drybar Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler

So awhile ago after I placed a large Ulta order I got a bunch of free samples. Part of that was a mini size of this spray from Drybar. This is supposed to be a pre-styling spray that is a heat protectant and a detangler.

Well, it definitely didn’t detangle my hair and I don’t think it provided much as far as a thermal protectant either. It also left a strange residue on my hair. I have tried drugstore options that are better than this so I will not be repurchasing the full size of this spray!

What were your hits and misses of the month? Let me know in the comments!
