December 2017 Hits & Misses

Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room and Happy New Year! I hope this year brings you all health and happiness.

First, I want to say sorry that I have been so MIA from my blog lately. I was visiting family for the holidays and then I got sick and my boyfriend and I were moving in to a new place. Anyway! I am back and ready to share my thoughts with you all once again.

This month I didn’t try out too many new products, but I definitely have some thoughts! So, if you’re interested in what my Hits & Misses were for the month of December, then keep on reading!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm

This product has saved my super dry skin. You need to keep in mind that this is only for dry to very dry skin types. You will feel way too oily if you have any other skin types and decide to try this.

This balm is rich and creamy and will provide 24 hour hydration. I always use this product morning and night after toner and serums. It has really restored my moisture levels and protected my skin from the frigid temperatures here in Michigan.

This product contains glycerin and edelweiss flower extract. It is fragrance, paraben, and silicone free.

Tarte Don’t Quit Your Daydream Palette

This has quickly become my go to daily eyeshadow palette. With 8 warm toned shades, I can create an intense or light look. This palette has also been great for travel, since it is compact and contains a mirror.

The shades are longwearing and creaseless. This palette also smells delicious, like vanilla. An absolute must!

Kokie Volume & Length Mascara

I have a dedicated post to this product, which you can read here. This mascara is awesome. It lengthens and volumizes without being clumpy. For more info on this, check out my post mentioned above!

First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer

I do not have the full size of this, as I got this as a 100 point reward from Sephora. BUT, I just may now have to purchase the full size of this. If you have dry skin and need another layer between moisturizer and foundation, give this a try.

This would also work in place of moisturizer for more normal to oily skin types. The product illuminates the skin but smoothes it and keeps makeup in place.

Real Techniques Setting Brush

If you are in need of a small brush to blend out your concealer or set your undereye area, look no further. This has quickly become my go to brush for blending out concealers under my eyes. I have been using a brush for this as of late instead of a sponge, as I feel that I get more coverage out of my products.

This small brush gets every crevice of my eye area and blends products out beautifully. Highly recommend!

Milani Retouch & Erase Light-Lifting Concealer

This concealer isn’t horrible, but there are way better drugstore options. First of all, the color selection on this is bad. I purchased the lightest shade, and it is still about three shades too dark for a “light-lifting” concealer. The darker shades are even more limited.

The packaging on this is also not great. A squeeze tube with a sponge applicator is a no-go for me. The sponge is hard and will not blend the product out. I also feel as though the concealer doesn’t cover well at all either.

It’s more like light-medium coverage and don’t even think about using a damp sponge, you will get no coverage. Overall it’s just a miss for me.

What did you love this month? Let me know in the comments!
