November 2017 Hits & Misses

Welcome back to Haley’s Beauty Room and for Day 2 of Blogmas! As I have only been blogging for about 6 months, this is my first ever Blogmas. It’s very exciting, but I also have to make sure I am on my A game to post every. single. day.

So, for day 2 I wanted to go over my November Hits & Misses. This time I am mixing it up and including some non-beauty items.  So, if you’re interested in everything that I loved and didn’t for the month of November, then keep on reading!

Skinfix Hand Relief Cream

This hand cream has been an absolute life saver for me this past month. It has been amazing for my eczema and has deeply hydrated my hands. I use this so much throughout the day, but have hardly made a dent in it due to the fact that you need the tiniest amount.

This product is clinically proven to treat dry, cracked hands. It is dermatologist recommend and was tested on subjects who suffer from diabetes. Best part about this product, it is free of fragrance, urea, soy, gluten, parabens & phthalates. No harsh skin irritants make for one happy Haley!

This product is $15.99 and can be purchased here.

Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside Candle

This candle is the perfect combination of sweet and smokey. This has strong notes of toasted vanilla and cedarwood essential oil. It is just so cozy and warm smelling. I love lighting this on those cold winter evenings and enjoying as the scent fills my entire home.

This candle is $24.50, but Bath and Body Works almost always has a sale regarding candles and home fragrance. Try picking this up when candles are 2 for $22 or $11.50 each. You can purchase this candle here.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter

My newfound favorite body butter ever! This deeply hydrates while smelling absolutely delectable. If you have extremely dry skin, you need to try this body butter. Even though it does have a fragrance, it has not irritated my skin or caused my eczema to flare up.

This is a whipped body butter that is enriched with soy milk and honey for super soft skin. It also contains shea and jojoba butters. You need the tiniest amount and it soaks in to the skin rather quickly. I picked this product up during the Spehora sale, as 8 oz. of this is $38. You can purchase this product here.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Another purchase from the Sephora sale was the Lineage Lip Sleeping Mask. This is an absolute must if you suffer from dry, cracking lips. A tiny amount of this will give you that pillowy soft pout that dreams are made of. This product also helps with fine lines in the lip area.

Check out what Laneige says about this product: “Enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants, its Berry Mix Complex™ offers a nutritiously sweet and fragrant blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts to indulge the senses. Its exclusive Moisture Wrap™ technology boasts hyaluronic acid and minerals to form a protective film over the lips to lock in moisture and active ingredients.”

I typically use this at night as the sleeping mask, but if my lips are feeling very dry during the day, I take a small amount and use it as lip balm. Regular use of this product has shown that I need less lip balm during the day and lip products apply much smoother.

This is $20 for 0.7 oz, but like I said, a small amount is all that is needed so it really is quite a bit of product. You can purchase this lip mask here.

Door Peninsula Winery Blackerry Wine

So about a year and a half ago my boyfriend and I went to Door County in Wisconsin for his mom’s birthday celebration. On the way back we stopped at the Door Peninsula Winery and Distillery. Ever since then, this brand has become my favorite wine, ever.

Whenever I go back to Wisconsin to visit family, I always stop by a liquor store and pick up a few bottles from Door Peninsula. This wine is so sweet and smooth, plus, it’s blackberry. Who doesn’t love blackberries?

They also come out with a Mulled Christmas Wine, which is absolutely to die for. Best part, these wines are all under $15. High quality wines with high quality taste for a great price. If you are interested in purchasing any of these wines, check out their site here.

Philosophy Pumpkin Icing Body Wash

Here I am back with the pumpkin body products again! I actually purchased this product two years ago when it was on sale, but I only bring it our during the Fall and Winter, so I haven’t used that much of it.

This pumpkin icing scent is so delicious and season appropriate. Also, this fragrance doesn’t irritate my skin, which is a plus. If you love anything pumpkin scented, give this a go. It is $18, but you get 16 oz of product. Shop here.

Bausch + Lomb Soothe XP Xtra Protection Eye Drops

So this might seem like a weird one to include on my blog, but these eyedrops are no joke! If you suffer from dry eyes that constantly feel like you have sand in them, you need these drops!

I have problems with waking up in the middle of the night and my eyes feel like sandpaper. I pop a few drops of this in each eye and they are immediately relieved. I only have to do this once a day because the relief is so long lasting.

When using these, your sight has a milky appearance for about 3 seconds and then it goes away. Nothing to be alarmed about. I purchased these from Target for $11.99, but the product came with a $2 off coupon right away. Shop here.

Aveda Dry Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner

So about 6 months ago, I went and got my hair done at an Aveda salon. I like Aveda salons because the staff are always trained super well. The service was amazing and my hair looked great, however, I got talked in to purchasing a travel size version of the Dry Remedy shampoo & conditioner.

I tried them again this past month and it was a no go. These did not work for my hair at all. They are meant to nourish & moisturize and I felt that it dried out my hair even more. The conditioner was very runny and didn’t hydrate. The shampoo didn’t cleanse very well.

Worst part, each product was $9 each for 1.7 oz. I do not recommend this if you suffer with dry hair and are looking for remedies.

Caudalíe Sephora Birthday Gift

Back in October was my birthday so I went in to Sephora to get my annual gift. You could choose between this set and I believe a Tarte one. I am all about skincare so I gave this a go. This set contains mini sizes of the Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and the Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet.

These products weren’t bad, they just did absolutely nothing for my complexion. The full size products are super expensive and I would expect more results from something that is supposed to be this high quality. The moisturizing sorbet did not hydrate enough for my skin, so I always had to add my facial oil to it.

What were your hits and misses of the month? Let me know in the comments!
