Claims & Shades
This product currently comes in 4 mesmerizing shades:
- Rose Gold
“Ultra-luxurious and multi-dimensional cream-to-powder highlighter for a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Lightweight, one-swipe, blendable coverage features ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous highlighted finish.”
On the Physicians Formula site this product has 239 reviews and 5 stars. If that isn’t indicative of how people are feeling about this product, then I’m not sure what is!
Packaging & Price
The packaging is absolutely stunning. It comes in a container with a screw top and holographic packaging. It is so shiny and mesmerizing and I really think they outdid themselves with this product.
I actually like that this is a screw top, versus a compact, as the item is a cream to powder formula. I think it is going to help keep it creamier longer, as long as you screw the cap on tightly after each use.
The Butter Highlighter retails for $10.95 USD and can be purchased at your local drugstore that sells Physicians Formula. I purchased mine from Ulta, so I could accumulate rewards points.
I had to stop myself from swirling my finger in the pan all night, but it was just so soft, buttery, and beautiful. It is very reminiscent of the Colourpop Super Shock formula. I purchased the shade Pearl, as that is what’s best for my fair skin. However, I definitely want to get more shades and use them as eye shadows.
The product swatched great on my hand and was pretty reflective. It isn’t as reflective as some of my highlighters in one swipe, but this product can definitely be built up! I will say that when you are applying this to your face, I would use either your finger or a dense brush. A really fluffy brush will not pick up as much product, being that this is a cream to powder formula.
I used a Sigma round top foundation brush, and it looked great. It put the product exactly where I wanted it and it was easy to build up. This highlighter looked so luminous on the skin and blended out like a dream. It was intense without being chunky looking or emphasizing any texture.
It really is just a smooth, metallic finish without having large chunks of glitter. This highlight would be perfect for someone who wants a versatile product that can be built up to intense or used for daily wear.
