Happy November my dears! Every year I get together with my family and we have quite the feast for Thanksgiving. Some years are larger than others, so my outfits will range from comfy casual to more chic and dressier.
Because everyone’s festivities differ, I want to give you multiple choices so you can find something cute and stylish while still being dress code appropriate.
This look is great because you can dress it up or down. You’re still totally in line with Fall fashion, meaning you hopefully shouldn’t have to go out and purchase any new pieces. A long sleeve sweater over a button down blouse looks great and modest for your more conservative family members.
Throw over a puffy vest and you are good to go. This outfit is also great if your family does any outdoor activities on Thanksgiving or you want some thing a bit comfier for all of the food you will eat. Pair with some skinny jeans and riding boots and you will be good to go.
Kohl’s always has a ton of options and colors for button downs. To keep with the Fall feeling, try this plaid button down. It’s on sale for $19.99 and goes great with the following vest and sweater.
Try this vest and cable knit sweater from Old Navy. The sweater is currently on sale for $28 while the vest is on sale for $25. Head to OldNavy.com for these deals.
Should you want to wear a dress with some tights on the day, but want to be comfy and not overdressed, I suggest going with a look similar to the below.
A high collar, skater dress with long sleeves and cuffed collars are the perfect trio. You are not wearing a tight fitting dress, so you’ll have comfort after eating an excessive amount of turkey and pie.
Throw in a flannel scarf and you are good to go. Although riding boots would work for this outfit, I would actually prefer booties. A super cute pair perfect for this would be these TOMS Desert Wedge Booties from Nordstrom.
For a dress, try this Flounce Long Sleeve Shift Dress from Target. It comes in three different colors and is just $29.99.
Go for some tights, cute earrings and you will be set.
Dressed to Impress
My final look is going to be the dressiest of them all. This is for all of you who have more formal get togethers. The outfit is still family appropriate and will have you looking oh so classy.
Nude and burgundy, what a great combo. This sleeveless A-line dress will have you poised and ready to take on the day. Paired with a camel colored pea coat and nude heels will have you as the star of the show.
Try this sleeveless dress from H&M. It comes in two colors and is only $39.99. Fit and flared in all of the right places.
For your coat, try this Wool-Blend coat from Old Navy. It’s currently on sale for $59 and would be great for late Fall and Winter outfits, so you can get plenty of other uses out of it.
To finish it off, I recommend one of these pairs of nude heels. One is more glitzy and glamorous, while the other is simpler, but tasteful.
Forever 21 came in with a bang for these Rhinestone Ankle Strap Heels. They are $35 and I would suggest going with the color Camel.
What’s great about these shoes is that they will translate well in to Christmas and New Year’s Outfits, saving you time and money.
The second pair I would recommend are these chunky heels from Lulus for $36. The subtle gold accent on the heel makes it great for holidays parties, but it;s a better option for those who like a simpler look.
You still get the strapy effect, but a closed toe which is better for those who may have to worry about weather. If these choices don’t suit you, make sure you go with something nude/beige that has a suede-like material.
If you are looking for some of the designer clothes or accessories you see pictured, try checking your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They typically sell designer bags and clothes and have a great variety. Nordstrom Rack would also be a great option, as the prices are great and they sell the same brands as your regular Nordstrom.
