If you happen to have read my Ulta Beauty Haul post, you know that I picked up one of Skinfood’s Freshmade Masks and then also grabbed a couple more a few days later.
Skinfood is a Korean skincare line with a main focus to create products that have the same nutritional value as food. As such, you will see that a lot of their products are food based. Watermelon, coconut, egg white, etc.
After trying the watermelon one, I knew that I needed more of these because they are great skincare products for a fabulous price. The Skinfood Freshmade Masks come in 4 different kinds and are $13 a piece:
- Watermelon- pore minimizing, oil control, and hydration
- Coconut-firming, moisturizing, and soothing
- Cranberry- tone, moisturize, and antioxidant-rich
- Lemon-clarifying, brightening, and moisturzing
I really enjoy that Skinfood created a Freshmade mask that suits every skin type. These masks are also gentle enough that you can layer different ones on top of each other and you can use them on a daily basis.
My two personal favorites are the Watermelon and Coconut. I really find that the watermelon helps with the pores in my t-zone without stripping any moisture. Having dry skin means I need as much moisture as I can get.
If you have oily to combination skin and are looking for a good mask to help with pores, oil control, and still hydrate (especially in the Winter) I would definitely recommend this mask. It will not make your skin break out or increase oiliness.
If you are dry, or are looking for a sleeping mask, definitely go for the coconut one. It is extremely hydrating without feeling too heavy on your skin. As it is such an airy, gel like texture, your skin will not be suffocated, but instead will soak up all of the goodness that this mask provides.
Added tip: after cleansing in the nightime apply a thin layer of the watermelon mask, allow to dry, and then follow up with a layer of the coconut. Sleep with this mask on and you will wake up to perfect skin.
I have not used the lemon or cranberry for long enough to say that I like them as much as the watermelon or coconut, so I will definitely update you on those. I received samples of those so I don’t’ have the cute jars to take pictures of.
I will say that I think for the price point these are terrific masks. Ultra Beauty will occasionally have a sale on this brand so you can get buy 1 get 1 40% off or sometimes 50% off. That sale means that you could potentially purchase all 4 masks for less than one high end mask.
I think getting all four is great investment as they will last you forever because you need such a little amount. Having all of them also means that you will have all of your skincare needs covered. My skin changes throughout the seasons so I need to have different options on hand to treat my specific problems.
Finally, I do need to bring up how delicious all of these masks smell! The watermelon smells like a jolly rancher, the coconut like a pina colada, cranberry like cranberry juice cocktail, and lemon like a delicious lemon drop martini. I think you get the point from everything that I’ve said that these are great masks and I 110% recommend!
Have you tried these masks? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
