Hello my dears! Keeping up with the Fall trend that I have going on on my blog, I thought I’d kick off the beauty portion with some must haves for the season.
These are products that are staples every single year, no matter the trend. They also work on even skin tone and can be used year round so you will get your money’s worth out of these babies! If you are interested in adding some great products to your collection while also looking on point this season, then keep on reading.
This is probably the biggest must have of the season. Bringing out the darker lip colors during this season just makes everything work. When you’re all bundled up in your scarves and riding boots, a dark lip color will make you so posh.
Now for vampy lips you don’t always have to go with that burgundy or deeper purple color you see everyone wearing. In my opinion, vampy lips for the season is any sort of deeper version of red, pink, berry, purple, brown, and mauve.
You can go for this look with a liquid lipstick, lipstick, gloss or balm. I personally prefer a liquid lipstick with a matte finish as I can get the most color payoff. Some of my favorite lippies for this is the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips as they are only $6 a piece and they are super long wearing.
For the lipstick or balm side I would 100% recommend the Urban Decay lippies. They offer Sheer, Matte and Regular which makes the color selection huge and perfect for anyone’s needs. They offer any sort of Fall color that you could need. I love the color Sheer Shame, which is a deep berry color. Although it is a sheer lipstick you still get a huge color payoff.
For your eye looks you definitely will want to go deeper and more intense with these as well. Smokey eyes and a bold lip is perfect for Fall and really works for any occasions. For your smokey eyes you can be more subtle about it go quite intense.
The key to acheiving this look is to have on hand different shades of rich browns, burgundy, golds, and orange. You will want to play up with the shades of nature and choose those colors which accentuate your features.
I find that I can acheive almost any Fall look with my Morphe 35F, Fall Into Frost palette. This eyeshadow palette gives you 28 shades of shimmer and matte colors. You will get 7 matte shades that go well with any look and give a very blended appearance. This is also a great price at $23.
Deep and Neutral Nails
I think that I wear more nail polish during this season than any other time of the year just because I like darker and neutral nails. I think it looks so classy and chic that it is perfect for office wear while also amping up any look on the weekends.
To go with your intense eyes and lips, you will need a flawless base. During the summer, foundation usually turns in to tinted moisturizer and BB cream, however, in the Fall and Winter is when the full coverage really comes back in to play.
I am personally a full coverage kind of girl, so I am always looking for the next best foundation. For this step I recommend two products to achieve a flawless base that will have you looking fabulous in all of your pumpkin patch photos.
The first being the new YSL All Hours full coverage matte foundation. This stuff will cover anything (even your ex-boyfriend)! Plus it stays on all day. So if you have a long day of stopping at cider mills or an all night Halloween party, this stuff is sure you keep you looking amazing. This product is recommended for oily and combination skin.
For my dry skin or sensitive skin gals I would highly suggest Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24 Hour Foundation. This will give you full coverage with a velvet-matte finish that won’t dry you out or look cakey. This foundation too will last you all day.
Something that I remember that used to be all the rage was changing up your hair color for the season. Such as in the spring and summer go light and for the fall and winter darker. I personally don’t feel you need to follow that exact rule, but there are a couple things you can go for if you are looking to mix it up for the season.
If you’re already a brunette, try adding some warmth in your look with copper or chocolate brown. Adding some subtle highlights or these colors can really spruce up your look and make you Fall ready.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you already have light hair, try out a subtle ombré to give your hair some dimension or throw in some light caramel highlights. Adding depth to your hair, even the slightest amount, can drastically change your look.
With the dry and cold weather coming in, you need to make sure you take care of your skin. This includes staying hydrated on the outside as well as on the inside. When you have healthy, glowing skin, everything else just seems to work that much better.
Since the summer is usually humidity central, in the Fall I would suggest that you purchase a heavier face moisturizer or oil to go the extra mile. Also check out some hydrating masks and priming sprays that are sure you keep your skin balanced and protected from nature.
My go to is the Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Oil. This oil is the only thing in the Fall and Winter that keeps the moisture in my dry skin, all while helping with pores and acne.
I also like to pair this with some of my Tony Moly sheet masks to ensure total moisture and balance.
Finally, I highly suggest checking out the Urban Decay Quick Fix priming spray for a touch of hydration to make your makeup last all day and to keep your skin in check. The combination of those three will keep your skin happy and your makeup and beauty game on point.
