First Impressions: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow

So if you read my Ulta Haul post a few days ago, you’d know that I picked up the highly anticipated Liquid Glow from Anastasia Beverly Hills! I got the shade Perla, which is a white, champagne, gold.

Like I’ve said many of times, I love highlighters. They seriously just make me feel complete in my makeup look and I just love to look glowy. Especially since I have dry skin. I mainly use powder highlights, but, I like to mix liquid ones in with my foundation for extra dew as well as use them as a base for powder highlights to intensify them.

For me, the main thing that I was going to be comparing this highlighter to is the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. Those were my favorite liquid highlights and I thought nothing would replace them. However, I think we have a challenger in that department!

The packaging is very sleek and simple. It is nothing spectacular, but I feel that Anastasia tends to go for a more simple look; they don’t really experiment with packaging. That’s not necessarily a bad thing either, sometimes it’s best to stick with what you know.

You get a small tube of this product. I do find that this packaging and tube is easier to work with than the Cover FX drops just for that fact that it is more travel friendly and doesn’t get as messy. The dropper on the Cover FX is sometimes a pain to work with.

This product currently comes in four different shades. Those shades are as follows:

  • Perla: white, champagne gold
  • Oyster: opal
  • Peach Fizz: amber gold
  • Bronzed: copper bronze

I personally fell that ABH did a great job on the shade range. I think there is a beautiful highlight offered for all skin tones. I really hope they come out with more options just for the simple fact that these are beautiful and I kind of want them all!

Product and Application

Again, if I am comparing to the Cover FX drops, this product is thicker. I’d say the consistency is similar to that of a liquid foundation like the Lancome Teint Idole 24 Hour. The shimmer and highlight is intense but can definitely be customized to what the user is looking for.

I first blended a dime size amount in to my foundation. I mixed it with the Lancome Teint Idole and Estee Lauder Double Wear. Immediately I loved the look. I think Perla was the perfect shade for me. It gave just the right amount of luminosity without looking glittery or too overpowering.

After applying my foundation and concealer, I did take bit more of the product on a sponge and apply to the high points of my face (cheekbones, cupids bow, chin, and forehead). It applied super easily and blended out like a dream. In comparison to the Cover FX I find that that one can tend to dry down too fast and almost look patchy and uneven if you aren’t careful. This product did not do that at all and blended out seamlessly over top of my foundation.

I then applied my Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Highlighter in Goddess of Faith over top of the Liquid Glow. Let me tell you something, this combination was absolutely stunning! The highlight was intensified and the color combo just made for a perfect makeup day. Not only did it look great, it also increased the longevity of my powder highlight. Bonus!

Final Thoughts

If you are a highlight junkie like me, or are just in the market for a new highlighter, I 110% recommend this product. ABH definitely hit the mark on this product. As soon as I get the chance I will for sure pick up more shades of this.

I really would like to try some no makeup, makeup looks with this, as well as try it on the eye lids maybe as a cream shadow. All in all, get this product, you will not be disappointed!

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
