Final Thoughts: It Cosmetics CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder

Happy Monday everyone! Today I wanted to do a review of a product that is a powder foundation type, since I haven’t discussed that on my blog before. A few months ago during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty event, I picked this product up half price as I was in the market for a new powder foundation.

This product is marketed as a “sheer to full coverage finishing veil” and says it can be worn as a powder foundation. That being said, I think if you are looking for a new pressed powder foundation, I would go with It’s Celebration Foundation instead and leave this one as a finishing veil.

Likes

I like that this is customizable to the coverage that you are looking for. Whether you just want to use this as a finishing veil or are trying to get full coverage, it’s nice that you can get that with one product.

I also really like that this has SPF in it. That fact that used as a finishing veil or powder foundation means I will be protected from the sun is great. Even if I am headed outside to run errands or do yard work, I know my skin will have extra protection.

I do think that the packaging on this product is very sleek. I like the silver with black lettering and the fact that you get a nice mirror with the compact. The product does come  with a sponge underneath the powder, but I definitely would not recommend using that to apply. Stick with a powder brush for this product.

Dislikes

Although it says it can be full coverage, I think it only gets to medium coverage at most. If you are looking to cover any discoloration or blemishes, you will need to apply a concealer beforehand. I think that’s a little off as it’s marketed as a CC or color correcting product, so you should be able to get some coverage from this.

This powder also goes on very unevenly and clings to certain patches of skin. I used it today and every time I would look in the mirror I noticed that some areas looked very thick while others seemed to have no product on them.

It is also very difficult to blend. For my powder foundations I typically use my Tarte Airbuki Powder Foundation Brush, which is amazing by the way, and this powder will not blend out. I really have to pack it on for any coverage and once it’s on it will not blend around.

Finally, as someone with dry skin, I am always concerned that I will look dry or cakey with powder foundations. However, this powder actually makes me oily! My t-zone will be so oily by the end of the day that this foundation just melts off. If you’re oily, stay away from this one!

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a more full coverage powder foundation, go another route or try one of It’s other powder foundations. I am a huge fan of their Celebration Illumination powder. This one just doesn’t fit my needs and it is too hard to work with.

I am still a big fan of the brand, but this one was just kind of a miss for me. Have you tried this product before? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

xoxo
