I feel like something that many beauty gurus don’t really talk about is perfumes. Spritzing on my perfume after getting ready is seriously one of my favorite steps because it just completes any look. For some reason I don’t feel totally put together unless I have put on perfume.
Because I want to start the discussion of favorite fragrances, I decided to make a post about my all time favorite perfumes. The following are perfumes that I have purchased time and time again and that I feel are perfect for anyone.
Dahlia Divin Eau de Toilette by Givenchy is just a classic scent. It smells so classy and sensual that you will be reaching for this scent every single day. This is my go to scent for the office because it is light and earthy. It doesn’t smell too heavy and can definitely translate from day to night wear.
Givenchy describes this perfume as “A Haute Couture gown, this fragrance envelops you in freshness and sensual softness that reveals the divine within you. Like a custom-made Givenchy creation, Dahlia Divin Eau de Toilette is an exquisitely refined, multi-faceted fragrance. The scent envelopes the skin with a fresh and soft sensuality, and like a golden haute couture gown, leaves you feeling divine.”
That literally is the best description because like I said, it feels very classy, elegant, and put together. I get so many compliment whenever I wear this fragrance and I swear it gives me more confidence as well. As it is by Givenchy, the price runs a bit high. For 1.7 oz. it will cost you $76, however, one spray will do so your bottle is guaranteed to last you quite awhile.
Decadence by Marc Jacobs is a spicy, sexy scent that is sure to make heads turn when you walk by. It is a woody and floral scent that just screams glamorous. It is a very rich fragrance in that it is much heavier smelling than the Dahlia Divin. If you prefer lighter scents that are great for everyday wear, I would stay away from this one.
I personally take this out for special occasions and events, as like I said, it is a heavier smelling fragrance that is very spicy. The exotic smelling amber and jasmine in this fragrance just seem so different from any other scents that I have tried or owned, which makes this fragrance so unique and desirable.
Marc Jacobs describes the fragrance as “A sensual, luxurious, and woody fragrance, Decadence embodies the spirit of irreverent glamour. The fragrance opens with sultry top notes of Italian plum, iris flower, and saffron. The heart combines luxurious notes of Bulgarian rose, jasmine sambac, and orris. The indulgent dry down reveals the base notes of vetiver, papyrus woods, and liquid amber.”
Again, this is pricier as it is by Marc Jacobs. 1 oz. goes for $74, but like I mentioned, this is a special occasion perfume and you really only need one spritz so this bottle will last for a lifetime.
Glamorous Magnolia from Flora by Gucci is a super floral, fresh, and warm scent all in one. It seems impossible that fresh and warm could be together, as normally I think of those two as total separate in perfumes, but it just blends perfectly in this fragrance.
You will get notes of sandalwood, citrus, and magnolia all in one. As the name states this is definitely a “glamorous” perfume, but I believe it still would work for everyday wear. In my opinion, I think in terms of heaviness smelling, this falls right in between the Givenchy and Marc Jacobs. It is not as light as the Givenchy because of the warmth, but definitely not as spicy and deep as the Marc Jacobs.
It also is very different from the others because of the strong floral scent from the magnolia. It also is extremely romantic smelling (Calling all Prince Charmings!). Gucci describes the fragrance as “A brilliant opening of buoyant freesia, citrus zest, and green leaves yields to a tactile fusion of peony and magnolia. Sandalwood, musk, and warm chocolate lend sensuousness to a base that proves as lingering as it is addictive. This fragrance celebrates the magnolia in all its guises: radiant freshness, velvet petals, and enduringly feminine sensuality. Glamour is assured.”
This falls in the same price range as the other two, $78 for 1.6 oz, but again, a little goes a long way.
I hope you liked my favorite fragrances! What are your favorite scents? Have you tried any of those that I mentioned? Let me know in the comments!
