What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag?

Hi loves! I recently just got back from vacationing with my family and let me tell you it was much needed. I have received a lot of questions regarding travel and beauty products, so I decided to put together a post of what I always take with me and what I consider makeup necessities in my travel bag.

If you haven’t tried any of Colourpop’s pressed shadows, please get on it! They are so pigmented and creamy plus they blend out like a dream! I purchased these about a month ago and I have not touched any other eyeshadows since.

As I purchased multiple colors that fit my daily needs, I figured they were perfect to bring in my travel bag so I wasn’t bringing with a million different eyeshadow palettes and singles. Over vacation I was able to create many different looks with the above colors and I was never let down!

For my eye area I like to stick with some pretty standard products that never let me down. For concealing the under eye area I stuck with my Tarte Shape Tape. As I have hereditary dark circles, this does the job in covering them up as well as brightening.

On brows I like to keep it simple on vacation as I never know how much time I will have or the type of occasion that may present itself. The Benefit Gimme Brow is a tinted brow gel that contains fibers to give your brows the color it needs as well as the volume and thickness.

Finally, a new showstopper to the scene is the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara that I’m sure you’ve heard everyone talk about by now. It truly is a great mascara that doesn’t smudge throughout the day (perfect for those beachy vacations). It separates my lashes and give great volume. If you’re looking for a drugstore mascara to steal the show, this is it!

Okay, I have to stop right now because thinking about this setting powder is literally giving me euphoria. If you like to glow, if you like an absolutely smooth and flawless finish on your skin, then please splurge on the Lancome Absolue Powder. I use this powder on the daily to set my face, but it just looks even better when you’re on vacation because of the absolutely radiant look it gives.

Since purchasing this setting powder, my foundation has never looked better, and I swear my skin looks totally poreless, even without the use of a pore filling primer. The price is a little steep for a setting powder, about $58. However, I have had this powder for about a year now, and as you can see from the picture, I have hardly made a dent into it. You need to smallest amount to achieve a flawless look so you will definitely get your money’s worth.

On my lips I went for a more natural look, and made sure to bring along a lip balm. For everyday use I usually slathered on some of my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy balm, as being in the sun dehydrates me and this balm helped counteract that on my lips.

When I needed some color I went with my BH Cosmetics waterproff lip liner in Stripped and paired it with my Urban Decay lipstick in Naked. If I wanted a glossy lip or some shine I added my Marc Jacobs gloss in Allow Me. The Marc Jacob’s glosses are soooooo good. They have just the right amount of color and give great hydration to your lips.

Finally, for my base, I brought along a travel size version of Urban Decay’s Quick Fix to prime my face, which I raved about in my Best Setting/Priming Sprays article. To set the face I brought a new one with, the Milani Make it Dewy Spray. The Milani Make it Last Spray is fabulous, but being a dry skin gal the Make it Dewy was just so good I couldn’t pass it up.

For foundation, I went with a splurge and brought along the Diorskin Forever foundation. If you want flawless looking skin without looking cakey or wearing a ton of foundation, you need to try this foundation. This foundation is literally like wearing a second skin. A second skin that’s perfect all day long that is ;).

The blendability of the foundation is great, the coverage is about medium, and the longevity is on point. If you’re looking for a high end foundation to cover all the bases, look no further than Dior.

Well loves, those were the essentials in my travel makeup bag! I try to keep what I bring at a minimum, especially if I am flying and not checking a bag. What are your faves when you travel? Also, leave in the comments below what your dream vacation would be!

Until next time,
