Hey loves! Today I want to discuss my current skincare routine with you. This will include my morning routine with a few extra tips. So if you want to know about this extensive routine that I call skincare, keep on reading. 🙂
The first thing that I do in the morning is cleanse. I like to use some slightly cold water just to wake myself up in the morning. For my cleanser my current obsession is the Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser. This delectable cleanser is so creamy and smooth you’ll think that you’re actually rubbing greek yogurt on your face. This cleanser is perfect for all skin types, but especially for dry skin as it’s soap-free and won’t dry your skin out even further!
Next in my process is toning. I personally find that this is one of the most important steps in a skincare routine. Toners are great for removing any impurities left behind on your skin that your cleanser missed. It is also fabulous for prepping the skin for optimal moisture absorption and addressing any skin concerns you may have (that is if you use a specific toner for skin problems, e.g. oiliness)
The toner that I love is from Dermalogica and it is the Multi-Active Toner. This spray contains moisture binding humectants with lavender, balm mint, arnica, and aloe. This toner purifies the skin and also provides added moisture, a must for dry skin types.
For my oily gals I’d recommend the Ole Henriksen Balancing Fore Oil Control Toner to cleanse your pores and keep you shine free throughout the day.
Ahh eye cream. The savior for my eye area. As I typically have horrible dark circles and fine lines in this area, I am very particular in what I use here. At this point I am switching between two different creams that I am testing out. The first being the Clinique All About Eyes Rich. This diminishes the look of undereye circles, shadows, and fine lines. It also de-puffs, calms with botanicals, helps boost natural collagen production, and provides a ton of moisture.
The second serum I have recently brought in to the routine is the Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate. A moisturizing and smoothing eye cream with organic grape and carrot juices blended with essential fatty acids and vitamins B5, C and P to hydrate and smooth fine lines. It also has been great at diminishing the look of my dark circles. This is also a great choice if you like hydrating eye creams that aren’t heavy and won’t make your concealer crease.
Next up is a huge step in a skincare routine, and that is a dedicated serum to address your biggest skincare needs. Although I am only 23, I have already found myself gravitating towards anti-aging products. I mean hey, it’s never to early to start, right?
I typically switch off between two different Vitamin C serums every other day. One day I like to use the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. The large amount of Vitamin C in this product will help with anti-aging and brightening of the skin. It also provides all day hydration and healthy looking glow.
On the second day I reach for my Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum. Now for a disclaimer, this product does say that you should use it every other night. You can use it at night, but I have not had any issues with using it during that day. As this is Vitamin C it also provides anti aging effects and glowing skin.
I also use a second serum daily for extra hydration. For that I have been digging the Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate. This serum would be amazzzzing for oily skin types that want to add hydration to their routine without the greasiness of some moisturizers and who also want to avoid getting too oily throughout the day. I find that for my dry skin type this adds a bit of boost to my hydration (in conjunction with other moisturizers and oils as well).
Now this next step can be totally optional for you, depending on what your needs are. As someone with dry skin I feel that a facial oil is a must for me in order to remain hydrated all day. In my nighttime routine article I will discuss how for oily skin types, it is actually beneficial for you to use a nighttime oil because combating oil with oil is a real thing!
My favorite oil for this step is the Botanics 100% Nourishing Facial Oil. This oil contains rosehip oil, which is packed in omegas and essential fatty acids. Long story short, this is REALLY good for your skin. Plus is gives great hydration for A+.
I bet you thought I was at the last step? Well guess again. I warned you this was extensive! The products I use in this step really differ day-to-day depending on how my skin feels. I typically use the Osea Malibu Atmosphere Protection Cream. This lightweight cream is great for all skin types and protects your skin from environmental stressors. It contains USDA certified Organic Algae, Shea Butter and Avocado Oil to moisturize and firm skin leaving a matte, silky finish. Added bonus, this is a great makeup primer!
A second moisturizer that I would reach for if my skin is super dry, and I mean suuuuper dry, would be JĀSÖN Vitamin E oil. This vitamin e oil contains 7 essential oils that help combat wrinkles and fine lines. Plus it smells like a dream! Tip: Use this all over your body after a shower to stay insanely hydrated, glowing, and smooth. And yes, I would use this oil and the Botanics oil on the same day!
Okay, we are finally at the last step of my morning routine. I love to set everything in place with a good facial spray. I personally switch off from Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb, and Rosewater for extra hydration and if my skin is feeling a little irritated.
I also enjoy Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea if I need a little pick me up and my skin is looking dull. P.S. sometimes I use both because they are that good! These sprays are also great for setting makeup and using to refresh your look throughout the day.
Well that’s it for my morning routine! I hope you didn’t get lost in all of the products I mentioned. I promise my nighttime routine will be coming shortly! What are your favorite products in your skincare routine? What products do you feel like really makes a difference in your skin? Any you would recommend to me?
Well, that’s all until next time!
