Best of Drugstore Foundation

cosmetics-259181_1920Drugstore makeup has really made a comeback within the last year or so. Without sounding like a pretentious snob, up until about a year ago I really had no interest whatsoever in drugstore products. I had tried most them before and had always been underwhelmed with the results. However, one night after completing my daily ritual of watching my fave beauty gurus on Youtube, and hearing them rave about some drugstore products, I decided that it was time for another go at drugstore makeup.

As you can imagine, that opened up the flood gates to what now is my drugstore foundation collection. The following are my all time favorite drugstore foundations that I’m sure will cover every want and need that you are looking for in a foundation, for a quarter of the price. Who doesn’t love that?

L’Oréal Infallible

This one is a big one. I say that because we’re not talking about one foundation, not even two, but THREE foundations from the L’Oréal Infallible collection. These foundations are so good that you will wonder why you even bothered with different products in the past. What I love about these foundations is that they cover every skin type. From oily to desert dry, L’Oréal Infallible has what you need.

L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover Foundation

$12.99

L’Oréal’s claims for this foundation include “24 hours of full coverage with a lightweight feel and a natural finish. Infallible Total Cover Foundation blends instantly to cover dark spots, blemishes, scars, and hyper pigmentation for a flawless complexion.” Need I say any more? This foundation accomplishes that and then some! All of the claims are 100% accurate. Your skin will appear flawless without having that heavy, caked on feeling that you may experience with other full coverage foundations.

My only caveat is that you will be very surprised by the texture the first time you try this foundation. When I first squeezed this foundation out of the tube, I almost thought that I was using the Benefit Porefessional primer, not a foundation, because the texture and appearance is almost identical. Not to fear my friends, the foundation blends out like a dream and does not have a sticky finish. I like to blend mine out using my Clarisonic Foundation Brush Head for an airbrushed appearance.

L’Oréal Infallible Pro Glow

$12.99

“Up to 24 hour wear with a hydrating glow. Lightweight and creamy, this long-lasting foundation goes on smooth with a glow finish that lasts. With medium coverage, it instantly hides imperfections for a clear complexion.” My personal favorite of the three, the Pro Glow Foundation is absolutely stunning. If you’re like me and have severely dry skin, look no further than this foundation.

The blendibility of this phenomenal, the coverage is just right, the glow is definitely there, and it stays put all dang day. I reach for this foundation more than any of my high-end choices combined. This is recommended for normal to dry skin so if you’re on the oily side I would suggest you look to my next recommendation.

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte

$12.99

This foundation is huge favorite among my friends with oily skin types. Even though I do have dry skin, this foundation doesn’t make me appear cakey or dull, which is just what the claims are. “Achieve a matte finish that won’t fall flat with this air-light, long wearing liquid formula. Lightweight and creamy, foundation goes on smooth with a demi-matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours- hiding imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion.” I find that this foundation is very similar to that of the Pro Glow, just with a different finish.

All three of the Infallible foundations are out of this world. Alone they are stunning, but my main tip regarding these foundations is that you mix two, or maybe even all three of them together. I continually mix my Pro Glow and Total Cover together to achieve an absolutely flawless look. Mixing them provides me with an opportunity to customize my finish and my coverage. Bottom line is, try these foundations, you will not be disappointed.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus™ Foundation

$5.99

Wet n Wild I see you coming through! Seriously, if there is one drugstore foundation that you need, it’s this one. Wet n Wild claims “Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.”

Not only does this foundation live up to all of its claims, if you have a special event coming up, this foundation will do you some good. It blends with ease, delivers great coverage, has no flashback, and layers beautifully. Give this one a go with your beauty sponge and you will never look back.

P.S. the color selection is phenomenal. 20 shades that are guaranteed to make anyone look great.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer

$10.00

If you need something that is full coverage, look no further than Milani. This foundation will cover anything and everything and also doubles as a concealer. So if you want to try out one of the other foundations in this article, you can still use this one for those pesky under eye circles.

This foundation is also water resistant and has great long wearing abilities. Perfect for any skin type, and you will only need the smallest amount to get full coverage for your entire face.

The only downside this foundation represents is the shade range. It is decent but those with very pale or darker skin tones may have trouble matching with this foundation. Hey Milani, come out with more shades!

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation

$10.99

If you are looking for a dupe to the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, look no more. Catrice is coming in with a bang on this foundation! This foundation has ultra-light texture, but amazing coverage. If you are someone who is in to high coverage without the feel, this foundation is for you.

This HD foundation is like a second skin that last up to 24 hours and is camera ready. Also, if you’re oily, this foundation will help to mattify your skin, helping to avoid that midday shine.

This foundation however, has the absolute WORST color selection out of all of the drugstore choices in this article. Catrice only provides FOUR shades. Four! What are we supposed to do with four choices?! I hope they get on board with more choices so the world can experience just how great this foundation is.

All of these foundations can be purchased either at Ulta Beauty or your local CVS/Walgreens. I hope you liked my top picks for drugstore foundations! What are your favorites? What would you recommend that I try out and review?

Thanks loves!
